The History Of Harper Motors
In the Spring of 1983, Father/Son duo Jud and Mike Harper formed Harper Motors Inc. after purchasing the GM dealership in Minden, LA. from the Stewart family. On May 1, 1983 the doors opened at 301 Main Street and our story begins.

In 1984, they purchased additional street frontage and remodeled the building next door to their current location and expanded their lot with Jud Harper at the helm as Dealer and Mike Harper as Vice President and General Manager.

In 1989, Mike Harper became Dealer and President of Harper Motors Inc. and in 1996 purchased the dealership from his father. Years later, in 2000 Harper purchased and built the current location at 200 Hwy. 531 in Minden where it still resides.

In 2010 Mike Harper was awarded Louisiana Dealer of the Year and that same year turned over the dealer position to his son, Marshall.

In 2018 Marshall Harper acquired ownership from his father and he remains the current owner/dealer of Harper Motors Inc. which was rebranded as Harper Chevrolet GMC at that time.
